Supporting DPI Family, Youth, and Community Engagement Model
PARTICIPATING STAFF: Shahanna McKinney-Baldon, Dr. Annalee G. Good, Dr. Alisia M. Moutry
Historically, family engagement work at Wisconsin DPI was centered within Title I programs and supports. Although other teams included family and community engagement components, there was limited inter-agency coordination on resources or requirements.
R10CC is supporting DPI’s new family engagement core workgroup with developing vision and training resources on an agency-wide family engagement model. Support has included logic model creation to help frame the process and manage resource development. The resources will not only inform agency efforts, but also will be adapted for local education agency use. R10CC assistance may continue to extend to youth-engaged structures at DPI, namely the Youth Power advisory council.
